Penis Size Anxieties - What's There To Worry About?

Penis Size - What's there to be anxious about?

If you suffer anxieties about your penis size, it’s more than likely that you also feel a little embarrassed or ashamed to admit to that anxiety too.

You're probably also worried that if you did pluck up the courage to confide in anyone, there's a good chance that they'd perceive you as being a little insecure, immature, self-absorbed…may be even mentally ill.

What’s more, despite the significant confidence pummelling effects and the emotional distresses that this particular male anxiety is well known to cause, it doesn’t take a great deal of imagination to guess how many people would be likely to dismiss such a concern out of hand as being ‘silly’ or ‘trivial’.

After all, there’s got to be more important things in life to worry about than the size of your dick right?

What about the health of your family, stresses at work, little Jimmy’s bad school report, paying the mortgage…or even the dog’s annoying habit of chewing up the morning newspaper before you’ve had a chance to read it?

All these issues must surely take priority over the size of a relatively small and ‘inconsequential’ part of your anatomy that not only spends most of its time hidden from view; but isn’t really likely to attract much third party scrutiny anyway…unless of course you spend most of your free time frequenting swinger's clubs, have a penchant for relaxing on nudist beaches or have just landed the role of leading ‘stunt cock’ in a blockbuster porno.

‘Come on,’ you can mentally envisage your confidant saying in summing up, ‘get a grip…and a life’.

Confide in the doctor…

Tell a doctor that you’re concerned about your penis size and the response is unlikely to be any more constructive or sympathetic.

He’ll ‘reassuringly’ (and probably a little bit condescendingly) tell you that you’d only be medically considered to have a small penis if the little guy measures 7 cm (2.75 inches) or less when erect.

If this isn’t sufficient to quell your anxieties, he’ll then tell you that you’re suffering from a mental disorder called ‘penile dysmorphophobia’ – an irrational preoccupation with the size of your penis – a condition that that he’ll continue to enlighten you, needs to be treated with an intensive course of psychotherapy.

How about that for great news hey?

You finally pick up the courage to go to the doctor to ask for help with a lifelong, confidence sapping problem; and you leave with the same problem…as well as the new found knowledge that because your penis just happens to be slightly bigger than a baby carrot, your worry now also qualifies you as clinically insane.

Key Fact : It's Official...Penis Size Isn't That Trivial After All!

You may be relieved to know however, that anxieties over penis size are extremely common and aren't as trivial as you might fear.

According to a study published in the British Journal of Urology in June 2007, around 45 percent of men wished they were bigger. What’s more, the study found that men falling in the ‘average’ penis range (5.5 – 6.3 inches erect length - measured along the top of the shaft.) are most likely to suffer such anxieties.

What’s the reason? The researchers noted a distinct link between penis size and confidence - the 22 percent of men who considered that they were endowed with bigger than average penises also perceived themselves to be the most attractive.

Psychologically speaking at least, less than an inch can make a massive difference.
